Donald W. Cavanaugh

Donald W. Cavanaugh, beloved husband of the late Charlene Cavanaugh for 51 years. Loving father of Jennifer (Chad) Cavanaugh, Daniel (Megan) Cavanaugh and Erin (Beau) Cavanaugh- Wyatt and cherished Papa of Henry and Amelia Cavanaugh and Finnegan Wyatt.  Devoted son of the late Edward and Evelyn Cavanaugh and son-in-law to the late Alfred & Mary Ann Foster. Dearest brother of Margie (Bill) Rellar, Tom (Pat) Cavanaugh, Lynn (Jim) Tovinitti, and the late Michael (Jan-living) Cavanaugh and Bill Cavanaugh. Much loved and admired uncle of many nieces and nephews.
On Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, at the age of 75, Don passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
Don grew up on the west side of Cincinnati and graduated from Elder High School.  He honorably served his country in the United States Navy (1968-1973) during the Vietnam War and had a long successful career in the gravure printing industry. Even after retiring, Don loved to stay busy, even taking on a job as a handyman, and spending time in his yard or fixing just about anything.  One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren; spending time on and off the soccer and baseball fields. He especially loved watching Elder Panthers football on Friday nights followed by an evening at Price Hill Chili with his close friends and family.  Don had a tremendous sense of humor; his silent laugh was contagious and will be truly missed by so many, especially those closest to him.
Family will greet friends on Thursday, April 11th, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Vitt, Stermer and Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45238.  Funeral Mass & Celebration of his life will be Friday, April 12th, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Simon Church 825 Pontius Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45233.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Elder High School.
