Anthony (Tony) L. Eckstein, age 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on December 10, 2021 at VITAS Healthcare/Drake Hospital. He was born on November 5, 1941, in Enochsburg, Indiana to Romilda (Nee: Gauck) and Joseph Eckstein.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pat (nee Weldishofer) Eckstein, sons, Don (Sally), Jim (Mel), Marty (Ruthie), Mike (Maribeth) and daughter, Sharon (Doug) Zang; 14 grandchildren -- Jonathan, Lindsey (Aaron), Megan, Lizzie, Justin (Amanda), Chelsea, Timmy, Olivia, Tyler, Ben, Daniel, Jessica (Zack), Sara (Mike), and Robert; 7 great grandchildren - Charlie, Cody, Kayden, Arianna, Paxton, Asia and Olivia and sister, Rosella Koehne of Batesville. He is preceded in death by his parents (Romilda and Joseph Eckstein), sister Sr. Helen Eckstein, and brothers Joseph, Paul, Howard and Earl Eckstein.
Tony graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering in West Lafayette, Indiana in 1963. On August 24, 1963, he married Patricia Weldishofer at St. Joseph Church in Indiana. Tony started working at Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company in 1963 and was there for 33 years when he retired in 1996. He then became a consultant with Cadence in 1997 for 13 years and retired in 2010. Tony’s many interests include golfing, playing cards, landscaping, sporting events, and enjoying time spent with his family.
Visitation will be on December 14 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vitt, Stermer and Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on December 15 at 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Church, 4551 Delhi Road, 45238.
