Charles E. Grau, born on November 17, 1943, peacefully departed this life on October 19, 2024. A man of deep faith and unwavering commitment, Charles was heavily devoted to his church, Old St. Mary Church, where he found community and purpose throughout his life.
Charles's love extended beyond the sacred walls of his church; he cared deeply for his children, Angela (Jeffery) Stanczak and Pamela Sardo, who carry forward his values and teachings. Charles was the grandfather to TJ, Vienne, Joseph (Dani), and Cody. Additionally, he was a great-grandfather to Lorelai. He also cared for his beloved dog, Angel, and cherished his cat, Rosie. His nurturing spirit was evident in all aspects of his life.
Charles shared many wonderful memories with his siblings, Richard (Regina), Paul (Roberta), David (Sandi), and Barbara, with whom he maintained ties throughout his life. He also mourned the loss of his brother, Sam, who preceded him in death.
A proud veteran, Charles served in the Air Force, embodying the values of dedication and service that defined his character. A graveside service will take place Monday, October 28th at 9 AM at Dayton National Cemetery. Meet at the cemetery at 8:45 AM.
His legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever be cherished by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the profound impact he made on those in his life.
