Diana M. Wert, a beloved educator and cherished family member, passed away on August 31, 2024 in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 77. Born on September 11, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Diana's life was characterized by her dedication to teaching and her passion for spending time with her friends and family.
Diana graduated from Mt. Notre Dame High School in 1964 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Xavier Edgecliffe. Throughout her career, she devoted herself to the education of young minds, spending most of her teaching years at St. Bartholomew in Finneytown, Ohio. Diana faced the challenges of each school year with resilience and a deep commitment to helping her students improve and thrive. Her impact as a teacher extended beyond the classroom, as she inspired countless children through her patient and nurturing approach.
Outside of her professional life, Diana embraced her interests with enthusiasm. She found great joy in cooking while welcoming friends and family into her home. Her talent in the kitchen was admired by many, as she created dishes that brought people together.
Diana's passion for antiquing was another avenue through which she expressed her creativity and joy. She frequented antique malls and small towns with charming shops, eventually curating an impressive collection of angels that adorned many rooms in her home.
Diana is survived by her daughter, Kristen (John) Burkart; son, Kevin (Ashlee) Wert; and her treasured grandchildren, Corinne (Matt) Maudlin, Emma Burkart, Taylor, and Avery Wert. She also leaves behind her twin brother, Donald (Sandra) Evers, and beloved nieces and nephews, including Katie (Bill) Begg, Sarah (Andy) Assaley, and Amanda (Scott) Moreland, as well as cousin, Susan Dollar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rosemary (nee Steltenpohl) Evers, who instilled in her the values of kindness and education that she carried throughout her life.
Diana M. Wert will be remembered fondly for her devotion to her family, her passion for teaching, and her zest for life. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched with her gentle kindness and unwavering support.
Services will be private.
