Donald W. Lang

Donald W. Lang, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at the age of 97. Born on May 23, 1927, in Cedar Grove, Indiana, Donald lived a life rich in family, humor, and service.

A proud graduate of Stewart High School in Oxford, Ohio, Donald served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as an inspector at the Fernald Atomic Energy Commission. His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for his family and his ability to find humor in everyday life.

For 71 years, Donald was a devoted husband to Arleen Lang. Together, they built a family grounded in love and unity. Donald was a proud father to Greg (Gail) Lang, Mike (Bev) Lang, Andrea (Phil) Karam, and Steve (Indra) Lang. The joy of his life increased as he became a grandfather to Eric (Chantel), Justin (Amber), Elizabeth (Alex), Brett, Christina, Alyssa (Jared), Sarianna, and Kriena (Kyle). Donald's legacy continues through his grandchildren and extends to his great-grandchildren Ethan (Tiana), Avah, Gage (Kaylie), Cohen, Grayson, Lily, Graham, Jack, Brody, Brock, Julie, Kamryn, Klaira, Brielle, Bryce and great-great-grandson Sawyer.

Donald is also remembered fondly as the brother of William (Shirley) Lang and as an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews who cherished his playful spirit.

In addition to his family life, Donald was known for his vibrant personality. He took great pleasure in working in his yard, cleaning his cars, and pursuing his passion for golf. His playful nature made him a beloved jokester among those who knew him, and his ability to bring laughter into the lives of others was one of his most endearing qualities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Lucille Lang, and by his siblings Raymond Lang, Paul Lang, Mary Helen Addison, and Marvin Lang.

Visitation will be Friday, December 27th from 5 PM until time of funeral blessing at 7 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.

Donald W. Lang leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, laughter, and devotion that will be long remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to inspire and bring joy to his family and friends for generations to come.
