MUNSON, Dorothy Clare (nee Hanis), age 78, passed away August 30, 2007, at Hospice of Cincinnati after a courageous battle with cancer. Dorothy was born October 1, 1928, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Dorothy (Mikula) Hanis. On February 23, 1952, in Dalton, Pa., Dorothy married her husband of 55 years, Robert Samuel Munson. After relocating to Albuquerque, N.M. then to Nescopek and Berwick, Pa., Dorothy and Bob settled in Greenhills and have been residents for 51 years. Dorothy was a retired teacher's aide for the Greenhills-Forest Park School District, a former bookkeeper and stenographer and a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church of Greenhills. Along with her family, Dorothy's passions included stitchery, gardening, travel and playing bridge. Dorothy is survived by her husband Robert, son Robert (Martha) Munson of Detroit, daughters Carol (Anthony) Morganti of Cuyahoga Falls and Barbara (James) Blazer of Columbus, grandchildren Katie and Matthew Munson, Max, Maria and Mitch Morganti, and Sam, Jack and Joe Blazer, sister Beverly Morgan, brother Allen (Patricia) Hanis and sister-in-law Jeanne Hanis of Scranton, Pa, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nephews and beloved friends. Along with her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by brothers Thomas, John and Francis. Memorial services will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, 8611 Winton Road on Saturday, November 10, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, Dorothy C.
