Fred D. Hollingsworth

Fred D. Hollingsworth, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, away on October 21, 2024 at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, passion, and family devotion. Born on October 7, 1944 in London, KY Fred dedicated much of his professional life to Butternut Bakery, where he became known as a diligent, committed worker and Union Representative.

Fred had a vibrant personality that shone through his interests. He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and enjoyment by the water. His love for race cars was equally fervent, a testament to his adventurous spirit. As a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds, Fred often filled his conversations with spirited discussions about his teams, delighting in both their triumphs and challenges.

He is survived by his cherished children, Kim (Bill Blankenship) Hollingsworth, Joey (Tasha) Hollingsworth, and Dina Hollingsworth, who carry forward his spirit of dedication and love. Fred also embraced the roles of grandfather and great-grandfather with joy. He leaves behind five grandchildren: John (Rebecca) Cobb, Jaime (Joey) Berning, Joshua Hacker, Bryndon Hollingsworth, and Adin Hollingsworth. Each of them, along with great-grandchildren Charleigh, Jaisey, and Everleigh Cobb, and Anastasia and Alexander Berning, hold precious memories of Fred that they will cherish forever.

Fred is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Dorothy J. Hollingsworth, who stood by him in life and whom he missed dearly. He also rejoins his siblings Shirley, Bob, Ed, and Debbie, who have left an indelible mark on his life.

Visitation for Fred will be Monday, October 28th from 4 PM until time of service at 6 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.  Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Fred Hollingsworth’s memory will be honored by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of hard work, family, and passion for life will forever remain in the hearts and minds of those he leaves behind.
