Galen R. Taylor, born on April 19, 1946, passed away on December 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and cherished memories. A proud Army veteran, he served his country honorably during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient.

Galen was a man of deep patriotism, evidenced by his active membership in the National Rifle Association. He loved storytelling, often captivating those around him with narratives filled with humor and life lessons. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Taylor (nee Adams), and children, Gina Taylor and Jason Taylor. Galen's love for his family extended to his roles as step-father to  Don (Trasa) Durban, and Debbie (Dan) Madgett, grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of fifteen, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. He was also a proud uncle to Christine (Scott) Wever and George (Carol Ann) Taylor, as well as being a great uncle to six. Galen also leaves behind his dear loyal friend since first grade; Ron (Betty) Fraley.

Galen was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Taylor, his brother Joe (Mary) Taylor, and his beloved son Christopher Taylor.

His mornings were spent at McDonald's, where he gathered with a close-knit group of friends, sharing camaraderie and laughter. As we remember Galen Taylor, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by dedication to family, friends, and his country. His warmth and humor will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Galen's cremains will be buried with military honors in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington DC. To honor Galen a memorial may be made in his name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T.org).
