George Wallace Mclain

George Wallace McLain, Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marianne; Devoted father of children George Jr. (Grace) and Julianne McLain-Harper; loving grandfather of Suzanne (Ted), Torie (Brad), James, Christopher and Matthew; great grandfather to Aubree and Lucas; faithful brother to sister Hazel McLain.
George was an engineering graduate of Auburn University and also received a Masters in Business from Xavier University. He was a 43 year veteran of General Electric and for many years was an Ambassador of GE Insurance Options for Seniors. A veteran of the Armed Forces, he retired as a Colonel in the US Army, Korea, and the Army Reserves. He was a 17 year volunteer usher at the Aronoff Center.
A faithful member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, during his 56 year membership George served as an elder and Bible Study facilitator. He continued to serve as a Bible Study facilitator after his move to Evergreen Retirement Community.
A memorial service will be held in George's memory on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11am at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 703 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
