Jacob Michael Packett
"Jake" age 32, of Salisbury, MD passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at his home. He entered this world in his hometown of Cincinnati Ohio to parents Wendy Smith (nee Packett) and Gary Smith on December 15, 1990 at 12:37am, 6 weeks premature, with great big eyes and a head full of black hair.
He worked for Salisbury Scrap Metal where his eclectic taste flourished. He truly lived by the age old saying “one mans junk is another man’s treasure”, and would bring home treasures ranging from old coins, to cookware, to home decor. For those lucky enough to know Jacob, knew he was a constant bright light, he loved hard and gave the greatest hugs and had the best laugh and infectious smile! He treated everyone close to him like family and was even quick to give out nicknames, even if those nicknames only made sense to him. He had a big, loving heart and loved his partner in life, little girls, mother and father, grandparents and siblings and nephew/niece fiercely. His over the top personality was apparent in his ever changing hairstyles, passion for all genres of music and diverse fashion sense. He had an obsession with shoes and loved showing them off. Jacob took great pride in his appearance. It was not uncommon to see Jake representing his favorite NFL team the Cincinnati Bengals, accompanied with a gold chain and cowboy boots. He loved Who Dey Sundays as well Opening Day for his Cincinnati Reds. Jake loved his hometown sports teams.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his partner, Kayla Harbach and their two daughters, Violet M. Packett and Delilah R. Packett; two brothers, SGT Cody Smith (Kerestin) and Dominic Smith; two sisters, Hannah Smith and Heather Renken (Alex): a nephew, Eli Smith; a niece, Salem Renken; his grandmother, Judy Packett; Godparents Tracy and Brian Aker. Jacob was preceded in death; his late grandfather Jack Packett and grandparents Dianne and Larry Smith. In addition Jacob was well loved by his in-laws, extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8th from 9 AM until time of Blessing at 11 AM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. Burial will follow at St. Joseph New Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the fund for Violet and Delilah at any PNC Bank.
