Jane Tredway

December 4, 1931 — April 4, 2012

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Guy James Tredway; three children and four grandchildren: daughter Beth Hastings and her husband Dan and son Ethan; daughter Rebecca Kasha and her husband Ed, son Andrew and daughter Alex; and daughter Susan Vance and her husband Rick and daughter Alissa; brothers William Bucy, and John Bucy and his wife Wilma; brother-in-law John Tredway and his wife Suzanne; and nieces and nephews Bill, Suzie, Bobby, Greg and Brad Bucy, and Laura Katherine and Clay Tredway.

Jane graduated from the University of West Virginia, where she was president of her sorority, Delta Gamma. She married her college sweetheart, Jim Tredway, and they set about raising their family. She taught at Forest Park Middle School from 1968 to 1972, at which time she was offered a job as a counselor at Forest Park High School. At that point, she enrolled at the University of Cincinnati to obtain the Master's Degree necessary for the job, while raising her family and working full time. She then worked at Forest Park High School until she retired in 1993. During her "retirement" she was a Deacon at Northminster Presbyterian Church from 1987 to 1991 and 2008 to 2012. She was also an Elder on the Session from 1994 to 1998, during which time she chaired the Personnel Committee. Jane was active in the Cincinnati Women's Club and the Y Chapter of PEO. A devoted and expert bridge player, she also enjoyed singing in a choral group, collecting antiques with Jim, and most of all spending time with family and with her numerous friends, by whom she will be deeply missed. Recently Jane was thrilled to celebrate her 80th birthday with her entire family.
