Janet L. Dorn

 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Lynn Dorn, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on 1/24/2025. Janet was a dedicated educator, passionate community member, and cherished family member who touched the lives of many. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Janet graduated from Broadripple High School before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Indiana University and a Master’s degree from Butler University. Her love for teaching shone brightly during her years as a teacher at JF Dulles Elementary and Delshire Elementary, where she inspired countless students with her kindness and dedication. Janet was a proud mother to her son, Stefan (Melissa) and a loving grandmother to Kaille. She is also survived by her dear sister, Joyce Posson, niece Meredith Eymann (Josh) and their son Dominic, nephew Joe Goldsmith and niece Lisa Posson. Janet’s family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. In addition to her role as an educator and mother, Janet was an active member of her community. She enjoyed her time with the Kiwanis Club, participated in the Bridge Club, and was a member of the Broadway Series Club. Janet had a passion for gardening, Westies and loved to spend her vacations in Myrtle Beach, Disney World, and skiing in Snowmass, creating beautiful memories with her family. Janet’s warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her honor to Cincinnati Animal Care. 

A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, March 16th, 2025 at the Pinnacle Pointe Clubhouse, 5751 Signal Pointe Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45247 from 1-4 PM.
