John R. Evans

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather John R. Evans, who left us peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the age of 83.  In his final moments, he was surrounded by loving family as well as his feline buddies; Onyx and Freddy.

John was a man of immense humor and southern charm who cherished every moment of life with his loved ones.  Born and raised in Tennessee, John was devoted to his faith; frequently studying the Word of God and cherishing gospel music.  He also enjoyed woodland animals, such as bears and wolves, and was entertained by John Wayne and Walker Texas Ranger.  He was a kind, genuine soul who always made time to listen to others and lend a hand to anyone in need.

John is survived by: his children; Jon Evans, Jamey Evans, Joyce Adkins and Jerrie Vitatoe, grandchildren; Ricky DeAngelis, Liz (Joe Perry), Tiffany (Callum Garnett), Bella Vitatoe, Brittnie Evans, Brielle Evans and great-grandchildren; Judah, Cecilia, Eden, Ezekiel, Giovanni and Hunter.  Also, extended family with special mention of: Bonnie Jackson, Lee Hicks, Chris and Christa Hicks.

John's visitation will be Friday, May 31st from 11 AM until time of funeral at 1 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.
