Joseph Harlow (October 17, 1943 – July 14, 2024)
Joseph “Joe” Harlow, 80 years young and a resident of Hebron, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at Coldspring Transitional Care Center on Sunday, July 14, 2024, after a lengthy battle with heart disease and chronic kidney disease. Joe was born on October 17, 1943, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, to Spicy (Slone Harlow) Sallee and Samuel Harlow.
Joe attended Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, OH and for most of his adult life, he worked as a machinist at Setco Industries prior to retirement. During his golden years, “Harlow” as he sometimes was called, enjoyed traveling with his wife, Margie, and finding various projects to keep his mind busy and his hands full. Joe enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending church, his grandsons’ ball games, his granddaughters’ concerts, driving in his Pontiac Solstice with the top down and his favorite hat on, as well as watching his beloved sports teams (Bengals, Reds, and UC Bearcats), western movies, and wrestling.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Harlow and Spicy Sallee; stepfather, Albert Sallee; his seven siblings, Nina Sallee, Rose Watts, Lelia “Tootsie” Henley, Marilyn Snow, Milburn Harlow, Sloan Harlow, Ansel Harlow; his first wife, Judith “Judy” Stadtlander Harlow; his second wife, Marjorie “Margie” Prather Harlow; his son-in-law, Nikola Tesla, and his stepson, Kenneth Pollitt.
Joe is survived by his two children, Linda Harlow Tesla and Joseph M. Harlow; two stepchildren, Joseph (Sara) Pollitt and Marilee Pollitt; four grandchildren Lauren Tesla (Tyler) Swayne, Katelyn Tesla (Nathan Farwell), Dylan Pollitt, and Brennan Pollitt; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Vitt, Stermer, & Anderson Funeral Home located at 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238, beginning at 10:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Spring Grove Cemetery (Sec 137 – Lot 312), 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45232.
Joe’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the care teams at St. Elizabeth Hospitals of Northern Kentucky, Emerald Trace Short-Term Rehabilitation Center, Coldspring Transitional Care Center, and the team at Bluegrass Care Navigators (Hospice), who made him happy and comfortable during his last few months of life.
