Kathryn Chandler

Kathryn M. Chandler (nee Smith), age 83 of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away November 16, 2010 after a long illness. Preceded in death by parents Lawrence A. and Margaret M. Smith, brother Robert A. Smith and husband of 40 years, Bert. Survived by her children Lynn (Nick) DiBartolomeo, Susan M. Chandler, and William (Amy) Chandler; grandchildren Jan (Matt) Morris, Laura (Brandon) Martin, and Max Chandler; great-grandchildren Riley, Ryan and Isabella Martin. Kathryn grew up in Springfield, Ohio and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1945. She graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1948 and worked as a Labor and Delivery Room nurse off and on for 40 years at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Ohio, Mercy Hospital, Hamilton, Ohio and retired in 1987 from Fort Hamilton Hughes Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio as a Nurse Educator in Labor and Delivery. Kathryn's greatest loves were her husband, Bert, her children and her nursing career. She gave unselfishly of herself for so many years and now it is her turn to rest. A special thanks to the staff of Chesterwood Chelsey Place, Hospice of Southwest Ohio and Stay Well Home Health Care for their care of mom. Visitation will be at Anderson Funeral Home, 8611 Winton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio Friday from 5-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vivian Church Saturday 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
