Kenneth E. Jr. beloved husband of Lois Reed (Keiser, nee Fischer)was a professional engineer involved with jet engine development at General Electric for over four decades. His credentials in community service and life were stellar. GE honored him with the Philippe Award for his extraordinary diversified volunteerism. An Eagle Scout, he became a Scoutmaster in college, and for more than a half-century worked tirelessly for scouting, receiving the Silver Beaver Award- the distinguished service to the development of youth. Born in Millinocket, Maine in 1924, he received his engineering degree from the U. of Maine where he lettered in football and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Ken had a wonderful career and life in retirement that encompassed many world travels. Ken passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014. Preceded in death by his first wife and college sweetheart Lois Ricker Reed. Survivors include children David (Ellen) Reed and Janet (Mark) Palm and a sister Anne Erickson. Ken was a loving grandfather to Allison, Michael, Matt, and to six step-grandchildren Nicholas, Johnathan, Alex, Patrick, Addison and Thomas. Memorial service is at 1pm on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Spring Grove Cemetery Memorial Mausoleum, Cedars of Lebanon Chapel. Family greeting will be at the Chapel from 12:30 pm until 1 pm, the time of service.
