Lee Bareswilt, a cherished member of the Cincinnati community, passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on May 29, 1938, Lee led a life filled with dedication, love, and a deep connection to his family and friends. He was a proud boilermaker for Local 105 and served his country honorably in the Air Force.
Lee had a vibrant personality, marked by his passions. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame, finding joy in cheering for his beloved team. In his spare time, he cultivated a love for gardening, where he found peace and satisfaction in nurturing plants. Additionally, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with those he loved.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Ruth Bareswilt (nee Roettker), and their children: Judy (Greg) Maurer, Joe Bareswilt, Julie (Terry) Bareswilt, JoAnn (Tom) Franco, and LeeAnn (Patrick) Bareswilt. Lee's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Samantha (Theo), Lee (Megan), Matthew (Sarah), Scott (Erika), Christina, Zachary, and Cody, along with his great-grandchildren, Rosie, Duke, and Ben.
Lee was preceded in death by his siblings, Tom, Dorothy, Dan, John "Sox," Ada, Janet, and Lloyd "Gus." Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A visitation with family will be held on February 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila, located at 1175 Overlook Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45238. Following this, a Mass will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics or Franks Center Parents Association, c/o Active Day Franks, 5718 Harrison Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45248.
Lee Bareswilt will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
