Leroy Adams

Aged 87 Years
Leroy was a guardian angel to his many nieces and nephews and their families, and generously contributed time and resources to his church during retirement.
Leroy was born to Edwin Adams Sr. And Eleanor Rahn Adams on March 4, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Leroy graduated from Woodward High School in 1953. He was chosen with two other young men to be the Woodward Color Guard—the highest honor a Woodward student may achieve. The guard are chosen for scholastic ability, outstanding character and citizenship.
Leroy served in the US Army between 1958 and 1960. During that time, he was confirmed in the Episcopal Church at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
In September 1961, Leroy started work in the railroad industry and worked in the states of Ohio, Kansas, Tennessee, and Texas, retiring after 38 years of service in June 1999.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters—Betty, Nora, Alberta; two brothers—Edwin Jr. and Richard (Dick) Adams, and two nephews—Steve and Guy Adams.
Leroy is survived by one brother, Floyd; four nieces—Judy Richards, Cheryl Weimer, Leslie Kennedy, Rebecca Adams, and three nephews—David, Robb, and Joseph Adams, and many more great nieces and nephews.
After retirement in July 1999, Leroy moved back to Tennessee to Collierville because he enjoyed living in the Memphis area earlier in his career. Leroy subsequently joined the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Upon Leroy’s death, St. Andrew’s conducted a memorial service on Saturday September 24, 2022. Burial service is on Saturday, October 22, 2022 9 AM (meet at front area of cemetery at 8:45 AM) at the Baltimore Pike Cemetery In Cincinnati with his family.
