Marilyn C. Unwin, born on July 15, 1932, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
Marilyn was a devoted wife to her late husband, Tom Unwin, and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her universe, and she found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she showered them with love and affection, which they will fondly remember through stories of summer camping trips, delightful vacations, and warm family gatherings. Marilyn’s grandchildren include Thomas (Kristin), Eric (Jenni), Gregg, Kimberly (Ryan), Kristen (Jake), Mathew, Clayton, Evan (Casey), Luke, Courtney (Joe), Logan (Sophie) and the late Timothy. She also adored her great-grandchildren: Corben, Owen, Esmae, Cooper, Zoey, Brayden, Braxden, Landon, Carson, Carter, Caroline, Everlee, Nash, Ivy and Willow.
A person of vibrant spirit, Marilyn delighted in various activities that brought her happiness and fulfillment. Her passion for water aerobics was matched only by her love for baking cookies, where her kitchen became a haven for sweet treats shared with family. She took pleasure in the simple joys of life, including shopping and vacation trips and saying the rosary. Her faith and devotion were evident in her daily prayers.
Marilyn is survived by her children Cheryl Unwin, Linda (Kent) Greer, Glenn (Dawn) Unwin, Connie (Bill) Lazo, and Karen (Tom) Steiner. She also leaves behind her beloved sister Joyce (late Denis) Sullivan, sister-in-law of the late Jim (Mary-living) Unwin, Clyde (Rosemary) Zapf and Richard Unwin, who shared many treasured memories with her.
