Mary P. Metzler

Mary P. Metzler, born on November 30, 1946, in Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025. A devoted clerical worker at Catholic Services, Mary was a cherished member of her community. Known for her engaging sense of humor, she brought laughter and joy to those around her, leaving fond memories for all who knew her.

Mary's commitment to education began at St. Bonaventure School and continued at Mother of Mercy High School, where she laid the foundation for her meaningful career. Her personality shone brightly through her love for animals, nurturing six beloved cats in her home, and embracing life with warmth and compassion.

In her leisure, Mary found comfort and enjoyment in activities such as devouring Word Search books and engaging in lively games of Bingo, reflecting her spirited approach to life. She was endlessly entertaining, and her sense of fun created spaces of happiness where friends and family gathered.

Mary is survived by her loving sister, Kathy Yaeger; her sisters, Diane (Lenn) Elliott and Kevin (Anita) Metzler; and her cherished nieces and nephews, which include Kevin (Becky) Metzler, Michael "Mitch" (Jen) Yaeger, Michelle, Tracy Rice, Thomas (BeLinda) Metzler, Kirsten (Mike) Metzler, and Kara (Dan) Borneman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Margaret Metzler, and her brothers, Thomas and Ron Metzler. Mary also held dear the memory of her brother-in-law, Mike Yaeger, and her nephew, Brian Elliott. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. from 8:30 AM until time of funeral blessing at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. ***THE FUNERAL MASS HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A BLESSING AT THE FUNERAL HOME DUE TO WEATHER.

Mary P. Metzler will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her genuine love of life and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to resonate within those who had the privilege of knowing her.
