Max Hofmeyer was born December 7, 1931 and passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at age 91. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Max was the beloved husband of 65 years to the late Angela Hofmeyer (Baute), loving father of Celia (Dick) Robbins, Mike (Jane) Hofmeyer, Anthony (Teresa) Hofmeyer, Paul (Pam) Hofmeyer, Max (Jenny) Hofmeyer and the late Henry (Carol-living) Hofmeyer and the late Steve (Mary Beth-living) Hofmeyer, grandfather of 28 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, brother of the late Giles (Emma Jean-living) Hofmeyer, the late Angela and (Dave) Bollinger and the late Phyllis Van Benschoten (Jack-living), and the grandfather of the late Philip Hofmeyer (Amanda-living)
Max and his wife Angela started Hofmeyer Plumbing in October of 1966 out of his garage and grew the company into one of the most well respected businesses on the Westside. He was past President of the CMPA, Board Member of numerous Organizations and mentor to many former employees who went on to start their own businesses. He was an incredible role model for his children, providing both opportunities and instilling a strong work ethic to succeed.
A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, January 21st at 10 AM at St. Lawrence Church. A reception will immediately follow in the Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elder High School or St. Lawrence Church. The Family would like to send a sincere Thank You to Artis Senior Living Center and their Staff in Bridgetown for their excellent care and compassion to both Max and Angela Hofmeyer through their difficult journey.
