Maxine Joann Von Hagen, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Independence Village in Midland, MI. She was born on January 19, 1929 in Etowah, TN, the daughter of Robert and Lena (Swaim) Fox. Maxine was a 1946 graduate of Etowah High School and moved to Cincinnati, OH shortly thereafter. She married Thomas Von Hagen, who predeceased her, on April 12, 1952 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage with him in Cincinnati, OH.
Maxine moved to Midland, MI in 2010 to be closer to her only son Michael and his family. Maxine was an avid quilter, enjoyed reading, cooking her favorite Southern dishes, and watching golf, especially the Masters.
Maxine is survived by her son Michael (Margaret) Von Hagen and grandchildren Rebecca (Jeff) Coates of Midland and Eliza Von Hagen of Campbell, CA, along with several loving nieces and nephews. Maxine was predeceased by all of her siblings and in-laws: Robert (Lula) Fox, Genelle (William) Young, William (Jean) Fox, and Virginia (Robert) Koch.
Cremation has taken place and a grave side memorial service will be held at the New St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH on Saturday June 12th at 11AM.
