Michael G. Koester (Mike)
Beloved husband for 46 years to Debra Koester (nee Root), loving father of Ashlee Koester-Klotter, dear brother of Paulette Mueller and the late Janice Bobinger, beloved son of the late Paul and Thelma Koester, dear uncle of many nieces and nephews and father-in-law of Geno Klotter.
Mike built his business Interior Landscape Associates from the ground up and worked over 40 years transforming such landmarks as Northgate Mall, Provident Bank, Dixie Terminal and Children's Hospital into beautiful interiors with luscious tropical plants. His love for landscaping shined through any project he worked on.
Mike was born and raised in Delhi. He made his home where he grew up and was an avid local historian of his community and the West Side. Mike was deeply religious and a man of faith.
Mike loved drag and muscle cars and was a collector of such. His interests included NASCAR and drag racing, car shows, Ohio State football, Reds Baseball, historical events, reading, Skyline Chili, Sunday dinners and spending time with family and friends. Mike loved music and it was a huge part of his life, a love he shared with his daughter.
He had a friend everywhere he went and anyone Mike knew he considered a friend. He was a pillar of the community of Delhi and continued the legacy of the Koester name in plants and flowers until his last days. He passed suddenly at home but was in the comfort of his wife Debbie at his side. Mike will greatly be missed by his loving family and friends.
Services to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at St. John’s Westminster Union Church on 1085 Neeb Rd. on Tuesday, September 12th at 12pm. Details of the Celebration of Life after to be announced at service.
