Monica Ann Westendorf

Monica Ann Westendorf passed away on May 14, 2023, after a long battle with oral cancer.
Monica was a thoughtful, humorous, and caring nurse at Wesley Glenn in Columbus for almost 30 years.  She was loved by her family, coworkers, and residents she cared for.  Monica unwittingly drew people to her which was to everyone’s benefit.  She was well admired by all who crossed her path.
She was born on October 11, 1972.  She enjoyed art in all forms.  Monica drew, crafted her own jewelry and was a huge fan of eccentric music.  She loved to travel having been to Europe and Hawaii as a child then exploring Jamaica and Mexico as an adult.  Always one to appreciate a friendly gag, Monica shared her humor with one and all.  Once she gifted a can of beans and a jar of jelly to her coworkers to see what they could make from it.  No one realized too quickly that they had jelly beans.
Monica was a lover of animals and over the years had great dogs at her side, Maggie and then Baloo.  Daughter of Omer, she is survived by her mother Mary Lou and brothers Kirk and Randy.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 22nd at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. from  10AM until time of her Celebration of Life Service at 11AM. Please come and share stories of Monica with her loved ones as she shared her life with others.
