Nicholina ‘Nikki’ Soldano

February 3, 1931 — June 20, 2021

Nicholina ‘Nikki’ Soldano, 90 of Cincinnati Ohio passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021. She was born February 3, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA to parents Michael and Antoinette Impagliazzo.

Nikki graduated from South Philadelphia High School and worked as a legal stenographer in Philadelphia. Nikki’s mother and father immigrated to the US from Italy. Her mother’s friend from Italy, Lucia who also immigrated from Italy, had a son by the name of Michael Soldano. An arranged meeting eventually led to the marriage of Nikki and Mike in Philadelphia and a move to Mike’s hometown of Cincinnati Ohio.

Prior to having children, Nikki helped Mike with their restaurant Papa Gino’s.  She loved cooking and spending time with her family. When her children were young, Nikki was active in St. Ann Sodality, a women’s organization celebrating fellowship and service in the parish. Later in her life she found comfort in poetry, especially those of a local poet by the name of Charles Martin who described people and heartwarming events with the elegance of a bygone era (e.g., Miracle At Christmas, Ol’ Blue Eyes, Fred Astaire, One Vote).

Nicholina ‘Nikki’ is survived by her sons Michael and Joseph, daughters-in-law Ann Soldano (Gebauer) and Ann Soldano (Mackey), grandchildren Michael, Catherine, Christina, Ashley & Marella, great grandchildren Sean, Aidan, Lucia, Gabriel, Isabella, Olivia, Bennett, Lucas, and Henry.

She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Soldano Sr, her daughter Maria K. Soldano, her father and mother Michael and Antoinette Impagliazzo (Candela), her sisters Rita Impagliazzo, Marie McMicken, and her brother George Impagliazzo.
