Patricia Rae Ohmer

September 3, 1941 — December 6, 2024

It is with heartfelt sorrow and profound admiration that we announce the passing of Patricia Rae Ohmer, a cherished soul who graced this world from September 3, 1941, until her peaceful departure on December 6, 2024. Born in the thriving city of Cincinnati, Patricia cultivated a life steeped in love, devotion, and community, becoming a pillar of strength and warmth for all those who were lucky enough to know her.

Patricia devoted sixty-four years of her life to her beloved husband, John Ohmer, a partnership characterized not merely by years but by a deep and abiding love. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, a testament to her unwavering commitment as a mother and, above all, as a Nana. She was the proud mother of Lori (Tim) Mitchell, Chris (Mark Smith) Ohmer, and Brad (Michele) Ohmer, whose accomplishments in education soared high, reflecting her dedication to their success. Patricia's heart swelled with joy as she reveled in the company of her grandchildren, Connor and Brady, who brought her endless pride and affection.

In her professional life, Patricia embraced her role as a cashier at IGA with loving enthusiasm, often brightening the days of customers and colleagues alike with her kind demeanor. Education remained an indelible part of her legacy, instilled not only through her own experiences at Seton High School but also through the values she nurtured in her children.

Beyond her admirable career and motherhood, Patricia's spirit was nourished by her many interests. She found joy in attending church mass, the simplicity of shopping excursions, and the serene beauty of Gatlinburg, where memories were woven into the fabric of her family’s history. Her Friday mornings were reserved for self-care, a cherished tradition of visiting the salon to have her hair done, signifying her dedication to both personal grace and independence.

Patricia's impact extended far beyond her immediate family; she was known for her caring nature and universal likability, qualities that endeared her to friends and acquaintances within her community. Her gentle spirit and unwavering support carved a space in the hearts of many, leaving a legacy marked by kindness.

Her life was enriched by the love of her family, her dear children, and especially the moments shared with her grandchildren. As we gather to celebrate her extraordinary journey, we invite all who wish to honor Patricia’s memory to join us for a Mass at St. Vincent de Paul in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM.

As we bid farewell to Patricia Rae Ohmer, a remarkable woman who has now joined her beloved parents, Marian and Ray Giltz, in eternal peace, we carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and devotion, forever cherishing the memories of her vibrant spirit.
