Patrick E. Garvey, father, grandfather, brother, and husband, passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on December 11, 1953, Pat lived an eventful life filled with family, travel, adventures and laughter.
Pat is survived by his wife, Shannon Osborn, children: Patrick Armontrout (Garvey), Josephine Minton, Patrick C. Garvey, Michael E. Garvey, Dakota L. Garvey, Isaiah S. Garvey, and Nina Hafertepen. Pat was also a grandfather to eleven grandchildren, who undoubtedly benefitted from his generous spirit.
For nearly two decades, Pat worked as a furniture mover, a career that not only sustained his family but also allowed him to forge lasting friendships across the country. His warmth and infectious personality endeared him to those he met along the way, and he built an incredible network of friends who will remember him fondly.
As a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, Pat’s loyalty to his team was evident throughout the decades. He found joy not only in sports but also in entertainment, with a particular fondness for classic western movies, especially those featuring John Wayne. Pat enjoyed watching old television shows about the Wild West, which complemented his love for storytelling.
Notably, Pat was known for his adventurous palate. He was a true foodie, relishing every bite of his favorite dishes, including chicken wings, pizza, burgers, and jelly donuts. His zest for life extended into all aspects, particularly the time spent with family and friends, where he was invariably the life of the party. His silly jokes and infectious laughter brought light to countless gatherings and created wonderful memories for all who knew him.
Pat leaves behind caring family members, to include his brothers Timothy Garvey and Kevin Garvey, his sister Theresa Moon (nee Garvey), and a variety of extended family to include nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by all who knew him.
