Peggy R. Mastin

Peggy R. Mastin, beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on December 22, 1951, Peggy's vibrant and colorful personality earned her the affectionate nickname "The Mayor" among her peers at the nursing home, a testament to the warmth and joy she brought into the lives of others.

Peggy was known for her big heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement to anyone in need. Her love for human connection was complemented by her fondness for gossip, as she enjoyed sharing stories and catching up with her loved ones. Peggy had a special bond with her daughters, Leanne (Tom) Luckett and Laurissa (Fred) Oswald, often sharing precious moments watching classic shows together, including "Andy Griffith," "I Love Lucy," and "Law & Order SVU."

A lover of games, Peggy found joy in playing Michigan Rummy and bingo, activities that brought laughter and camaraderie among friends and family. Her passion for reading was matched only by her love for animals, as she was a devoted caregiver to her pets, who brought her immense happiness.

Peggy is survived by her loving children, Leanne (Tom) and Laurissa (Fred), and her cherished grandchildren, Freddie and Reece. She is also remembered fondly by her sister, Pauline (Bob) Venneman. Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Mastin, whose memory she carried in her heart.

Peggy's family will greet friends on Sunday, February 2nd from 1 PM until time of her Blessing at 3 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.
