Beloved husband of 36 years to Kathy Brown (nee Ferris), loving father of Aaron (Emily), Katie (Brady) DeLong, Jake and Nate Brown, beloved son of Bob and Lois Brown, brother of Sue (Greg) Amend, Gina (Mike) Dowd and Kim Brown.
Phil graduated from Western Hills High School in 1971 and the University of Cincinnati in 1975. He was a teacher with the Cincinnati Public Schools for 30 years; a coach at Elder High School for 19 years and a youth leader with Columbia YMCA. He belonged to the Western Hills high school baseball club; Western Hills athletic hall of fame and U.C. baseball club (captain) His last UC teams to make it to the NCAA tournament. While coach at Elder two state champions; 1 state finalist. Coached St. Dominic to city championship in 1995; was Cincinnati softball player of the year in 1984 and Ohio high school asst. coach of the year in 2010. Jimmy Nippert award for top student-athlete at UC in 1975. Also other coaching championships. Mr. Western Hills in 1971. He also was an avid dog lover. He liked baseball, music, teaching, sports and cooking. His family always came first.
