Loving mother of Shavonna Gilbert and of Michael Shelton Jr., grandmother of Jayden, Evan and Kamden, daughter of Clara and the late Roland Shelton, sister of  J.D. Shelton (Jeanie), Alan Lee Shelton, Mitchell Shelton (Debbie), Danny Shelton, and Bill Shelton and the late Lester "Dale", Cecil "Brub" and Michael Shelton, aunt of Mindy and Matthew Shelton and many other nieces, nephews, extended family and her favorite companion Sophie.

Phyllis devoted her life to serving the community.  She was such a force for good, a tireless champion for those with no champions, a voice for people who had no voice, a family to a person without a family.  She worked in social work for many years in Over The Rhine, Lower, East Price Hill and other Urban Appalachian Communities.  Phyllis was also the rock of the family, always taking care of them and others.  She selflessly gave her time to taking care of her mom until Phyllis' passing on Saturday, January 27, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be Friday, February 2nd from 11 AM until time of celebration at 1 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.  Memorials may be made to People Working Cooperatively
