In addition to providing for his growing family, Bob was also an artist and musician.
At one of his houses he dug out a small area of dirt in the unfinished part of the basement to create a small studio for his oil painting.
He took courses to improve his drawing skills at the Famous Artist Correspondent School, lessons were judged by Norman Rockwell and other famous artists.
He had a small business creating and painting ceramics specializing in American Indian figurines that were sold in the Cincinnati area. The Lakota Sioux gave him the name of "Trailseeker" for his persistent search for knowledge of their history and customs.
Every Christmas he enjoyed painting a large mirror with winter scenes to add to the excitement of the holiday for his boys.
His interest in drawing and painting inspired one son to pursue a career as a graphic artist and another to go into photography.
He was also an accomplished musician, playing the trumpet, accordion and the organ. He and his brothers Tony, Steve and a family friend, Virgil Hubbard created a small band, The Three H's, that played at venues on the west side.
He had 3 sons that followed in his footsteps to sing and play drums in local bands.
Bob was also an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors and playing horseshoes. He was also an excellent bowler and enjoyed playing in a co-ed league with his wife at Del-Fair Lanes.
In the last years of his life he became very attached to his beloved Yorkie, Buddy.
Bob will always be remembered for his quick wit, restless energy and work ethic.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to honor him with donations to The Good Samaritan Foundation or Hospice of Cincinnati.
