Robert William Schirmer, born on October 23, 1948, and cherished by many, passed away on April 10, 2025. A dedicated Marine, Bob exemplified a spirit of service and commitment that resonated throughout his life. His time in the military not only shaped him as a person but also instilled in him values that he carried with pride.
Bob was known for his many talents and interests. He was remarkably handy and possessed a creative artistic flair for the designing of the home he created for his family. His enthusiasm for technology and electronic devices was evident, often leading him to explore the latest innovations. He had a particular love for movies and videography.
Family was the cornerstone of Bob's existence; his greatest pride came from being surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Monica Schirmer (nee Houghton), and his cherished children, Jamie Lynn Schirmer (Melanie) and Adam David Schirmer (Kara). Bob was a doting grandfather to Freya Sue, who brought him immense joy and happiness.
He is also survived by his siblings: Rita (Del) Osburn, Albert Schirmer, and Marie (late John) Smith, along with many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Loretta Schirmer, as well as his siblings: John (Mary Ruth) Schirmer, Martha (Cliff) Colegrove, Frank (Marlene-living) Schirmer, Donald (Patty-living) Schirmer, Richard Schirmer, and Ann (Donald) Troxell. Each of these loved ones shaped his life in meaningful ways, and their memories lived on in the stories he shared and the lessons he imparted.
