beloved wife of the late Harold Thompson, loving mother of  Harry "Pete" (Rita) Gettes , Mildred (Bob) Kruse, Bobby (Terrie)  Thompson, Kimberly (Tony) Melchion and the late Gary (Marilyn-living)Thompson,  Jerry (Lynn-living) Gettes and  Harold (Sue-living) Thompson, cherished grandmother of Kelly Thompson, Eric Thompson, Doug Thompson, Jason Gettes, Gretchen Gettes, Dawn Gettes, Josie (Josh) Kruse Hulkovich, Peter (Sabrina) Kruse, Justin Thompson, Roscoe (Lisa) Thompson, Wesley Thompson and the late Tony Gettes and Adam Emerson, great grandmother of Benjamin Thompson, Amanda (Ryan) Iding , Ashley (Spencer) Sharp, Eleanor Hulkovich, Henry Hulkovich, Daniel Kruse, Donovan Kruse, Hunter Thompson, Camden Thompson, Eli Thompson and many great - great - grandchildren, sister of the late William (Mary) Houser, Mary (Clem) Scagnetti , Dorothy (Elmer) Hail , Rosella (Nobel) Hale, Wilma Houser, Betty Houser, Lavada (Dick) Pufall, Verna Houser, Lois Wahl and Doris (Gene) Schomaker.

Shirley was a strong and vibrant woman. Her smile and personality lit up every room she walked into. She had a heart of gold and shared her love with everyone who knew her. The most important thing in her life was her family who meant the world to her. Shirley was loved by so many and will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Shirley passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at age 95.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 16th from 5-7 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.  A graveside remembrance will be Friday, February 17th at 10 AM at  St. Joseph New Cemetery.  We will meet in the main gate area of the cemetery at 9:45 AM.
