Thomas John Ciampone, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, passed away peacefully on August 16 2024, at his residence in Cincinnati. Born on May 21, 1938, in the same city, Thomas led a life filled with dedication to his family, career, and community.
Thomas had a notable career as a Pipe Coverer for Local 8, where he honed his skills and built lasting relationships with fellow tradesmen. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964, an experience he held dear throughout his life.
A graduate of Elder High School, Thomas was deeply committed to his faith, actively volunteering at his church for many years. He had a passion for travel and a special fondness for Christmas, cherishing the traditions and gatherings that accompanied the holiday. Each month, he made it a point to meet with his childhood friends, showcasing the value he placed on friendships and community bonds. Thomas enjoyed shooting and reloading ammunition, finding joy in these interests that allowed him to connect with nature and craftsmanship.
Thomas is survived by his loving children: Margie Pace, Debbie Connelly, Diane Buttel, Marina Current, Barb Miller, and Tommy Ciampone. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Amanda Fornash, Mark Robinson, Nicole Gray, Matthew Soper, Josh Soper, Jessica Soper, Kalee Adkins, Thomas Kraemer, Mike Kraemer, Michelle Kraemer, Selina Seider, Joe DiMuzio, Natalie Coors, Bobby Current, Blake Current, Samantha Russell, Amber Bouck, Jacob Bouck, Thomas Ciampone, and Vincent Ciampone. His legacy continues through his cherished great-grandchildren: Hannah Smith, Eli Smith, Thomas Gray, Chandler Gray, Raven Soper, Maddox Soper, Keila Soper, Jacqueline Soper, Aubrey McNulty, Kaison Tortorice, Owen Adkins, Jackson Stephens, Aaron Russell, Liam Russell, Lily Russell and Scarlet Russell.
He was also the dear brother of Anthony Ciampone. Thomas was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary M. Ciampone, and his brother, Carmen Ciampone and sister, Mary Jo Wittich. He was the son of Vito and Agnes Ciampone.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on August 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi, 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238. A Mass in his honor will be held the following day, August 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux, located at 7130 Harrison Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45247, followed by a graveside service at St. Joseph New Cemetery at 11:15 AM.
Thomas John Ciampone will be remembered fondly for his unwavering love for his family, his contributions to his community, and the joyful spirit he brought to all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
