Ratliff Thomas Asbury, Jr. passed away on January 25th at home. Mr. Ratliff entered World War II as a private in the horse cavalry of the United States Army. He retired as a colonel from the Army Reserve in 1972. He maintained a lifelong interest in the military and was a history buff. He was a member of The Military Officers Association of America and The Military Order of the World Wars. In civilian life, Mr Ratliff spent most of his career as a Quality Control professional. He was a life long member of the American Society for Quality Control , elected Fellow of that organization and author of "The Laboratory Quality Assurance System". He also wrote "The Cavalry Man" and delighted his family and friends with limericks. As a resident of Glendale, Mr. Ratliff was active in community affairs, a member of the Glendale Lyceum and Glendale Heritage Preservation, serving as president of both organizations. Predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Lucy Graydon Ratliff, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah Miller ( Robert) and Annie Naberhaus (Paul) of Cincinnati. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah Schuck, Abigail Gist ( Christopher), Robert Miller and Emily Miller and his great grand son, Graydon Gist.
