Victor M Machado

Victor M. Machado, a cherished member of the community, passed away on October 20, 2024 at the age of 84. Born on April 25, 1940, in Portugal Victor's journey brought him to the United States in 1969, where he exemplified resilience and dedication throughout his life.

Victor, who spoke very little English upon his arrival, quickly made his mark in his career. He worked diligently at Brewer Woodworking and later established his own business, Custom Woodworking, in the 1990s. Known as an excellent woodworker and craftsman, he took immense pride in his work, and this passion for woodworking remained a significant part of his life. His commitment to honing his skills included learning German to better communicate with his boss, showcasing his determination to succeed and provide for his family.

Family was central to Victor’s life. He is survived by his children, Victor (Cassandra) Machado, Maria (Louis) Santos, and Mena (Jay) Piper. He was also a beloved grandfather to Mark, Adam (Holly), Eric (Laura), Christian (Katie), Bryan (Abby), Alivia (Sergio), Collin, and Gabriella, and took great joy in being a great-grandfather to Halley, Ryker, and Michael.

Victor was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Maria C. Machado (nee Abarantes), who played an integral role in his life, having brought her to the United States a year after his arrival. He also mourns the loss of his sister, Maria dos Anjos.

Victor will be remembered not only for his remarkable craftsmanship but also for his unwavering work ethic and dedication to his family. His legacy continues through the lives he touched and the family business that remains in their hands.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.,  Cincinnati, OH 45238. Following the visitation, a Mass will take place at 10:30 AM at St. Teresa of Avila, located at 1175 Overlook Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45238.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Victor M. Machado will be profoundly missed, but his spirit and the values he instilled in his family will live on in their hearts forever.
