William A. Maas Sr.

December 27, 1950 — January 11, 2025

William A. Maas Sr., passed away on January 11, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend renowned for his sense of humor and the incredible stories he shared throughout his life. His name, given to him with fondness by his mother, was “Rockhead,” which reflected not only his stubbornness but also his love for his family. He was also affectionately known by many as, Willie, Wally, and Senior.

Bill served his country in the Army, embodying a commitment to service that carried through to all areas of his life. He was a MP while in the military at West Point. After his military service, he embraced a life long passion for golf and fishing, enjoying the great outdoors in the company of friends and loved ones, where laughter and camaraderie were always in abundance.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lois Maas, who stood by his side through all of life’s joys and challenges. Together, they raised a wonderful family, including their children, William A. (the late Jillian) Maas Jr. and Cynthia R. (Nate) Maas. Bill found great joy in being a grandfather to Morgan, Atlas, Cooper, Parker, Sammy, Shannon (Dylan), Allie (her daughter Gracelynn), and Savannah, each of whom brought unique happiness and light into his life.

Bill's legacy of love continues with his siblings, Albert (Debbie) Maas, Kathy (Tom) Bridges, Mary Fischer, and Eileen (Len) Wedig and their family's including his nieces, Andrea (Chris), Alison (Todd), Holly (Alek), and Hannah (Eric).

Bill's visitation will be Thursday, January 16th from 4-7 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.  Funeral Mass will be Friday 10 AM at St. Dominic Church. Memorials may be made to the Free Store Food Bank or the Salvation Army. 

As we remember William A. Maas Sr., we are grateful for the joy he brought into our lives, the lessons he shared, and the countless memories made together. His laughter will be deeply missed, but the impact of his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
